Join us for a night of Texas Hold'em where your fate isn't entirely in your own hands, and you can finally pass the buck on that terrible bluff. You'll team up with a partner, and together, you'll try to outwit, outplay, and out-bluff the competition. Just remember, when things go south, it's always the other person's fault.
Pick your partner wisely or be prepared to spend the night apologizing.
WHAT TO KNOW:
- Your "team" can be any TWO players (NEW players welcome! 21 & UP)
- Tag Team: Partners take turns playing blind levels. One partner plays for ONE blind level and then swaps before "tagging" in their partner to play the next blind level.
- Combined Stack: Both players are given starting chips. They play throughout the tournament with their combined stacks.

Welcome to Eager Beaver Poker League
Our Story
Eager Beaver Poker was founded with a straightforward mission: to establish a poker league that facilitates connections among people who enjoy playing poker and to create a fun environment for those interested in learning how to play poker for free. We strive to offer free poker in Coppell, TX, and the Dallas area, ensuring everyone has the chance to join in on the excitement.
The journey started in December of 2023 with Janet Beavers, affectionately called 'Dammit Janet' by her poker friends and family, or 'framily.' Tragically, Janet passed away on July 5th, 2024.
Janet's legacy and passion for poker continue through Craig Lopez, who took over the league. Janet trusted Craig to uphold her vision for the league and knew he would make her proud. Now, more than a year later, Eager Beaver Poker hosts tournament-style games five days a week, along with monthly and quarterly tournaments, including freeroll poker events in the Dallas area.
We hope you cherish the game of poker as much as Janet did, and we will always honor her wishes and the way she envisioned running the league, especially with offerings like TX hold 'em poker in the Dallas area.
